September 13, 2017
The meeting began at 7:30 with 22 members present. (secretarial comment: WOW) John introduced his guest, Fred Lipe. Andy displayed t-shirts donated by Thrivent Financial, in conjunction with their 5K sponsorship. These are free for the taking. Chuck announced that next week’s meeting will be in the evening, at 6 P.M., at Crescent Lodge. This will be Steve Kozar’s inauguration meeting. We will be in a private room and using the regular menu. A list was passed around, so that we can obtain an approximate count. Bring a guest!

No morning meeting next week, the 20th!!!

Sue S. told us that from Dec. 26-29 the Safety Around Water event will be held at the “Y.” It will be for non-swimmers and will consist of four lessons. We are welcome to assist. The “Y” will also be sponsoring the Scott Ewing Memorial 5K race on Nov. 19. Proceeds will go to a scholarship fund at the “Y.”

LizAnn Tepper was our guest, representing Keystone Bank. The bank has signed up to be a corporate member. Tim O’D. inducted her. She will be bringing along Marisol Lopez. LizAnn was welcomed by all.
John reported that the Stroudfest 5K netted us $2400, thanks to Sara M. and her hard work. We have approximately $1200 in RCI raffle tickets, with more money still due. For the Pig Roast, 180 tickets out of 300 have not been paid for yet. Carole’ Ann stated that she only has money for 30 orders for roses thus far. Money raised is earmarked for Head Start. ALL OF THESE MONIES ARE DUE BY NEXT WEEK’S WEDNESDAY NIGHT

MEETING.
Art and Barbara will staff the Kiwanis table on Sept. 16 at Stroud Community Day. Anyone with extra RCI tickets should get them to her. They will meet on Saturday at about 9:30 at Brodhead Park. Thank you to Dick W. for obtaining this opportunity for us. Chuck H. reported that the Turkey Committee has met for the first time and has asked Giant to donate turkeys for our Thanksgiving baskets. Stay tuned!
The meeting concluded at 8:00.

Respectfully submitted,
Jackie Flynn, secretary
